Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday

We are looking for an experienced Client Accounts Assistant to join a Lettings Accounts team based within an Estate Agency Head Office near Byfleet.

It is essential that you have experience in client accounting within the residential lettings/property arena.

As one of the more senior members of the team, you will work closely with the team leader and team colleagues to ensure that any monies, such as ground rent and services charges, are collected and passed to the relevant landlords across our portfolios in a timely and precise manner.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Completing daily consolidation and bank reconciliation of all receipts across all bank accounts and cashbooks
  • Daily uploading of rent and payments and invoices onto VECO system
  • Resolving landlord queries via email and telephone
  • Assisting with processing payment runs
  • Resolving and reconciling any known cash
  • Overseeing all aspects of sales ledger including allocating incoming payments onto the ledgers
  • Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices via the completion of a weekly and monthly Debtors Report
  • Assisting in the training and development of new starters and more junior members of the team
  • Assisting with the collation of monthly management information regarding outstanding invoices and issuing reports as and when required
  • Assisting with credit control when required, chasing debt via telephone, letter and email
  • Liaising with the branch network, issuing and re-issuing invoices as well as issuing credit notes
  • General accounts administration including banking, filing and retrieval of paperwork

The ideal candidate would be;

  • Experienced in working with client/lettings accounts within the property industry
  • Highly proficient using excel and reporting skills
  • Well presented with confident, articulate and strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • High attention to detail whilst working at pace
  • Team player but with the ability to work independently and take accountability
  • Able to mentor, coach and develop junior team members
  • Able to organise yourself and your team colleagues to prioritise workloads according to business demands and changes that may occur throughout the day, week and at month end!
